Cybercrime, also called computer crime, the use of a computer as an instrument to further illegal ends, such as committing fraud, trafficking in child pornography and intellectual property, stealing identities, or violating privacy. Cybercrime, especially through the Internet, has grown in importance as the computer has become central to commerce, entertainment, and government.

2) Calling the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal helpline at 1930
Please contact local police in case of an emergency or for reporting crimes other than cyber crimes.
A computer security incident is any adverse event whereby some aspect of a computer system is threatened viz. loss of confidentiality, disruption of data or system integrity, denial of service availability. Any organization or corporate using computer systems and networks may be confronted with security breaches or computer security incidents.
System Administrators can report an adverse activity or unwanted behaviour which they may feel as a cyber-incident.

Critical Information Infrastructure is defined as a “computer resource, the incapacitation or destruction of which, shall have debilitating impact on national security, economy, public health or safety”.
Critical Information Infrastructure or CII is vital for smooth and secure functioning of Information and Communication Technologies. The CIIs are needed to support the functioning of other critical infrastructures, ranging from power distribution to transportation and finance to governance.
Any cyber security incident related to Critical Information Infrastructure needs to be reported on NCIIPC.
