Celebrating National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) October, 2021

The main objective of establishment of Cyber Security Centre of Excellence (CS-CoE) under the aegis of the Department of Information Technology and Electronics, Government of West Bengal was to generate awareness on Cyber Security amongst citizens of the state through various awareness generation and capacity building programmes.

Every year October is observed as the National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) globally. To ensure every citizen has the resources they need to stay safe and more secure in online, CS-CoE also planned to undertake various activities throughout the month of October 2021.

Live interactive session for State's Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) managers on 7th October

A live interactive session was organised by the West Bengal Cyber Security Incident Response Team, under the aegis of the  Department of Information Technology & Electronics, Government of West Bengal for State’s Critical Information Infrastructure (CII)  managers on 7th October from 4 pm to 5.30 pm  at the premises of CS-CoE, Webel Bhawan Ground Floor, Block EP & GP, Sector V, Salt Lake, Kolkata 700091. Experts from National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Centre (NCIIPC) interacted with the managers. 

 

 

Two-day Basic Awareness Training on Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) Management on 4th and 5th October 2021

To initiate efforts towards a safe and secured CII environment in the State, a two-day basic awareness training programme on ‘Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) Management’ for the nominated ISOs, ISTOs and IRT members was organized virtually by the West Bengal Cyber Security Incident Response Team, under the aegis of the  Department of Information Technology & Electronics, Government of West Bengal on 4th October, 2021 and 5th October, 2021 (@ 2 hours/day from 3 to 5 pm). Experts from National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Centre (NCIIPC)  shared their expertise in this training programme on  Critical Information Infrastructure Management.

 

 

Following are the other activities that have been undertaken:

  • Circulation of Cyber Security related awareness email to all employees and others attached to the organization.
  • Encourage people to take Cyber Security pledge and share the Certificate.
  • Encourage people to take part in Cyber Security Quiz.
  • Encourage people to update social media Cover Photo designed for NCSAM.
  • Encourage people to share Cyber Security awareness banners/posters designed for NCSAM
  • Encourage people to use WhatsApp DP designed for NCSAM.
  • Conduct employee survey on “What you did to spread Cyber Security awareness”
